About

An independent community organization, building a network of care.

UCAN — Undivided Community Acts Network — is a grassroots network of individuals, families, and organizations committed to unity, compassion, and practical help across LaPorte County, Indiana.

Who we are

UCAN is an independent community organization in startup phase. A temporary mailing address and designated bank account for donations are being established during this period.

UCAN is not a church or religious organization. We are a community-based initiative centered on God’s love and guided by biblical principles of compassion, hope, love, unity, and service. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious belief or background.

Our mission is to bring support to senior citizens, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and neighbors with limited resources by coming together with volunteers, businesses, and organizations. UCAN does not provide these services directly — we connect neighbors through a verified referral network.

Our vision

We envision communities united in love and purpose, where individuals are empowered to make a difference, and every person feels seen, heard, and cared for. Our goal is an undivided community where every person we serve is valued, supported, and encouraged — not with handouts, but with meaningful help that restores dignity.

Why “undivided”

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV)

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

1 Peter 4:10 (KJV)

Just as a city on a hill shines for all to see, we strive to be a beacon of hope in our community — demonstrating care through actions, not only words.
